Brief Word #76 April 2018
Serving and ministering to the hungry, the thirsty, the lonely, those lacking clothes, the sick and those in prison, is actually ministering to Jesus! What a thought!

We’re walking through life, bearing life’s burdens, doing our best, and it seems like we’re on our own. The stuff that has been going on in our life is “obvious” to us. It even seems God is not with us. However...
Sometimes life is tough. Sometimes the bills don’t get paid. Sometimes sickness weakens and debilitates us. Sometimes our hopes are dashed. Sometimes our dreams don’t happen as planned. Sometimes we just don’t know what is going on. Sometimes life just sucks.
After all the years I have celebrated Christmas since I was born again, I think it always moves me in a special way. The power of the message of this time of year always seems to touch me deeply. I always pass through the Christmas season having thought deeply about God loving me...
A key reason why we too need reminders. To think again of all that the Lord has done in the lives of the ones we’re remembering, which has an impact in our own lives. Thinking about what the Lord has done in their lives and key events, should cause us to give glory, to worship and thank God for their life and therefore our life being shaped the way it has.
Casting a Christian Vote. Every political decision will have its impact upon us or our loved ones somewhere along the line. This is about the responsibility, the right, the privilege we have as Christians, and citizens of a democracy, to vote, and have our say. We must Vote!

What we think, speak, then do, is of huge importance. Our thinking determines more than we think — if you get my drift. The adage is true: thoughts lead to actions. Actions lead to habits. Habits lead to character. And character leads to destiny. It all started with thoughts.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (RSV). There’s a nasty insidious menace wreaking havoc in modern society. It is the computer virus.
At Church services all around the world especially over the Easter weekend but also every Sunday, Crosses will be carried in with pomp and ceremony, and positioned in pride of place. The Cross reminds us of something. Like a “post-it-note”, it reminds us that a long time ago, someone died. That “Someone” was Jesus Christ.
