At Church services all around the world especially over the Easter weekend but also every Sunday, Crosses will be carried in with pomp and ceremony, and positioned in pride of place. The Cross reminds us of something. Like a “post-it-note”, it reminds us that a long time ago, someone died. That “Someone” was Jesus Christ.

Brief Word #60 June 2016

Two years ago today, my life changed forever. Doctors, medical specialists, nurses, modern medical technology, the ambulance, the love and prayers of family and friends, and, the grace of God saved my life from a massive heart attack. I can’t say I’m running marathons, at the gym daily, or that I’ve joined a sports club, but what I can say, is that my life is different since that day two years ago.

Sometimes in life and ministry and just going about our daily chores — spiritual and natural — we get burdened and weighed down, and our gaze drops. We lose sight of the vision we once had. Distractions creep in that take away the passionate vision and dream we used to have, and we’re left looking down at all the stuff going on around us.
