All around us things are changing. Morals that have stood for centuries are changing. We live in a very different world to that of our forefathers. Yet Malachi 3:6 says; For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
In secular fields, there is a lot written and blogs published devoted to ‘finding your life purpose’. People are looking for the wonder of knowing they’re in their sweet spot, doing what they were ‘purposed’ to do.
A gift is also only really given when it is received. How sad when Christmas gifts are not received for whatever reason. How sad too for the Father of the Universe, when His ‘perfect gift’ is not received.

In times of transition, things can be uncertain, unknown, dangerous and scary. We are going from one known solid secure place, to another presumably known solid secure place. Transition is like the bridge linking the two places.

Two years ago today, my life changed forever. Doctors, medical specialists, nurses, modern medical technology, the ambulance, the love and prayers of family and friends, and, the grace of God saved my life from a massive heart attack. I can’t say I’m running marathons, at the gym daily, or that I’ve joined a sports club, but what I can say, is that my life is different since that day two years ago.
Sometimes in life and ministry and just going about our daily chores — spiritual and natural — we get burdened and weighed down, and our gaze drops. We lose sight of the vision we once had. Distractions creep in that take away the passionate vision and dream we used to have, and we’re left looking down at all the stuff going on around us.
Distractions can be a veil that stops us being free to see. Distractions could be having too much to do, too many good things to do, too many great opportunities, finding it hard to say no, not knowing what to say yes to, not knowing our purpose, being in spiritual bondage, or, looking down!
