Brief Word #118 DECEMBER 2021
With the world in turmoil and confusion over the virus and other events, we need some good news. Well there is. The Christmas story takes on a greater significance against the backdrop of the world we live in now.

I believe the Holy Spirit would address us in the midst of our own political, environmental, social, viral and economic challenges. One of His messages to us, is a reminder that Jesus is coming again, soon.
The Bible is amazing. We can read it, and meditate on it, and study it. The level of revelation we receive, goes up with the more time and effort we give to it. Reading is good, meditating on the Scriptures reveals more truth, and study unlocks even more...
Not just peace but great peace. Surely the presence of Jesus in our lives is great. Not just ordinary, but great, large, all encompassing, superior. He is the Prince of Peace, so when He is in our lives the peace can only be great... Peace is not the absence of strife and turmoil, but the presence of Him who is the Prince of Peace – Jesus.
There’s two ways of expressing God’s presence with us. We often say, that God is with us. And He is. He is with us every moment of every day, He is with us everywhere we go, He is always with us... But, there’s also the truth that we are with God. We are with Him...
The breath we breathe is a work of God, our heart that pumps is a work of God, our blood that flows is a work of God, a new baby is a work of God, the new sunrise is a work of God. A changed life is a work of God.
God is unlimited, we are not. He is infinite, we are not. Therefore we can only contain a portion of Him, but we do! We get to have in us a very part and portion of the fullness of God Himself. That is amazing. And God in us, our portion, is more than enough.
Wow! When we read the Bible we get a measure of insight. When we meditate we get a greater level of illumination. And when we study it, we receive even more revelation.
When we come to Christ, He abides in us. We are transformed. We become a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17). We take on the character and the culture of a new Kingdom, the Kingdom of God. There is a sense that we don’t fit. We don’t fit in here, we can’t connect with the world, we just can’t become one-of-them.
I believe every human being is a creation of Almighty God, and as such has a unique purpose, destiny, assignment, or vocation. To know God as Saviour and Lord is well on the way to discovering that revelation. Sadly some do not make that discovery even in later life. In fact I am somewhat concerned at just how many have not found that sense of destiny and purpose.
