The year 2020 will go down in many of our books as humongous horribelous! A bad memory. Forgettable. I’m sure we found ourselves doing things we didn’t plan to, functioning in roles we didn’t ask for, and having to come up with answers we don’t have, to questions we’ve never thought of.
At the mountain of meeting there is revelation, insight, understanding, and vision. And we all know a God-idea is far better than a good-idea. Sometimes there’s just no other place to be to hear from God. There are many physical places where we can hear God speak to us, but there are times when we just need to get to a mountain, and be with God.
The Disciples Peter, James and John were led by Jesus up a high mountain by themselves, where He was transfigured before them. Sometimes that’s exactly what we need to do. To get away, by ourselves but somewhere away from people and be with Jesus. No distractions. No technology. Just us and Jesus. Maybe a routine reset would be good to do.
Right now, there are many, maybe some of you who are in a very difficult place, financially, with your job, your future, your home, health, relationships, your ministry, everything. This is exactly the time when Jesus and His Word can become everything to us. Instead of the everything getting on top of us, Jesus wants to be our everything!
Crisis’ and change may take things from us. One thing remains though that cannot be taken from us. And that is, our relationship with the Lord. No matter what highs and lows we experience, we will always have the Lord with us and in us. We’ll always have our relationship with the Lord.
"Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other". The process of remembering what went before is primarily about knowing and believing and experiencing that God is God! The first thing we are to remember is that He is God! El Shaddai!
This edition marks the 100th Brief Word. Amazing. The vision for it is simple; to be A Biblical Brief Word, to equip, guide and inspire. Something we can read in a few minutes, that is firmly based in Scripture, is practical, Christ centred and can be lived out in every-day life.
If you look up you’ll have direction. Look up and beyond the challenges, you will see God above it all. You’ll see hope! You’ll have direction. You have to look up to see the sunrise, the hope and possibilities and potential of the new day. Look to a Sonrise in your life!
God still loves us. Nothing will ever change that. Maybe you need to know that even in the midst of some form of death, God still loves you and can bring new life! He will speak to us. He will encourage us. He will resurrect...
