Good Words is about writing and declaring “Words of Life”.

Stephen Whitwell – Writer, Connector, Speaker, Pastor and Celebrant.

With a background from a farm upbringing, the motor trade and sales, 31 years as a Pastor, Director of Studies/Principal of a Bible School, experience in other work roles, AND, 33 years married have all contributed to a wide range of skills and ministry experience.

My “Brief Word” e-newsletter goes out about monthly to equip, guide, and inspire! It is a short Biblical teaching and encouragement which is blessing touching and changing lives. See the Brief Word page for more information and to subscribe.

I love living in the Bay of Plenty and enjoy good coffee, fine food, my growing family (two great children and eight incredible grandchildren!), travel to anywhere at any time for no reason, connecting with people, studying writing speaking and teaching about anything, and time spent with my amazing wife Wendy and my incredible family.

Thanks heaps Steven. Your “Brief Word” is a great way to start my day and my focus!

I would like to tell you how this particular word affected my life. A few years ago I was feeling very low and couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. It was like a black cloud had descended on me and no matter what I tried I couldn’t seem to shift it. And the Lord gave me this particular scripture, which I wrote out and carried in my pocket and repeated every time I put my hands on it. My depression and feelings of being very low and heavy left and I find myself often repeating this scripture and passing it on to others. I find this is a perfect prescription or antidote for depression. Regards
